And is not equal the Best and the worst, you defend with what is the Best; then he, between whom and you there was enmity will become just like an intimate friend.
This verse commands defending against evil with the Best Adhikr. Relationships formed under the light of Adhikr will only be beneficial in the Hereafter. The believer maintains intimate relationships only with those who will go to Paradise and does not maintain close relations with disbelievers or engage with them pleasingly and softly. By engaging in strenuous Jihad with Adhikr against disbelievers, if any of them come to the path of Adhikr, understanding the reality, it will benefit both. Otherwise, they will be enemies in the Hereafter, as mentioned in verse 43: 67.
